 | RadAlert GEM II
The GEM II is for measuring nuclear and other ionising radiation, it checks and monitors/measures 'background' radiation - it is calibrated for gamma rays and will detect the presence of X-rays and those of alpha and beta contamination. Featuring 10 LED lights, each denoting a calibrated level of radioactivity, covering a range from 0 to 7.5 microsieverts per hour. The LED's are further grouped into bands of green, yellow, and red. There is a choice of a 10-second or a 10-minute counting period and if, within any 1 second period, radioactivity over 15 microsieverts is encountered, GEM II will cease counting and display a special array of flashing/warning lights.
